This mountain girl enjoyed the coast more than I ever thought I would. I think we all did. Activities such as riding through the dunes off of the coast of Oregon helped tremendously. We also saw another lighthouse and the sunsets were breathtaking every night.

We took a break in our travels to fly back to Texas for a birthday celebration (my mom’s 65th) and my aunt and uncle’s annual honey harvest. We have been fortunate to be part of the extraction for the last two years.

We had an amazing time in Newport, Oregon! Driving south on the 101 gives you nothing but spectacular views. We had some great driving weather but did notice how the sea fog sits right over the ocean. We would have perfectly blue skies above us but couldn’t see out into the water!

We had an amazing time visiting Long Beach, Washington. It is a great beach town with shops and restaurants right off the loooong beach. They are known for the kite festival (which we just missed! ugh.) but did get to see some fliers still hanging out on the beach. The shapes, sizes, and synchronicity of the kite fliers were incredible.
